FIELD GUIDE / BLANK GRIDS
Space before dates.
A blank calendar grid is a writing surface, not an incomplete date calculation. These specimens contain exactly 35 and 42 equal-width cells, with no hidden numbers.
01 / Five rows, thirty-five cells
A 5×7 surface leaves more vertical space per cell at a fixed page height. Use it for undated planning or for months that fit naturally in five rows. It is not a universal one-cell-per-date monthly template.
02 / Six rows, forty-two cells
A 6×7 surface accommodates any Gregorian month under any week origin. At the same total height, six-row cells are five-sixths as tall as five-row cells. Reserve a separate header band if you intend to add weekday names.
03 / Before you write
Choose an origin, label the weekdays and decide whether to include overflow dates. Keep those choices consistent across a set of pages. A blank surface does not prescribe a timezone, holiday calendar or regional weekend.
